用途：
1.玻璃與玻璃纖維
　　在制造隔熱玻璃棉、紡織玻纖和硼硅玻璃（耐熱玻璃、電光源玻璃、玻璃燒器、***/化妝品的包裝瓶、中空微珠、光學(xué)鏡片、密封玻璃）等領(lǐng)域，硼砂作為提供B2O3的原料。當(dāng)玻璃中的鈉硼比例需要控制時，它與硼酸組合作為提供鈉離子的原料。
　　玻璃中的B2O3有兩種功能：一是助熔劑，二是網(wǎng)絡(luò)形成體。它控制著玻璃的熔點和***終產(chǎn)品的性能。
　　玻璃棉中的B2O3有助于“纖維化”和提高玻纖的耐久性。硼硅酸鹽玻璃中的B2O3可降低玻璃的熱膨脹系數(shù)（因此可提供對抗熱震性），并改善耐化學(xué)性。
