商代晚期鑄造技術(shù)有更進一步的發(fā)展,如司母戊方鼎的鼎身和四足是整體鑄造的,鼎耳則是在鼎身鑄成后再在其上安模、翻范、澆鑄而成,根
據(jù)其體積和重量估計,所需金屬料當在1000公斤以上,冶鑄時必須有較大的熔銅爐,且有可能采用經(jīng)地槽流注的方法進行澆鑄。
商代晚期還發(fā)展了銅鑲玉的技術(shù),例如婦好墓出土的玉援銅戈即是將玉戈援納入銅內(nèi)的陶范中鑄成。藁城等地發(fā)現(xiàn)的鐵刃銅鉞也是采用這種技術(shù)鑄成的。銘文 商代早期和中期的銅器上至今未見銘文

古代炊器,多用青銅鑄成。相當于現(xiàn)代的鍋,煮或盛魚肉用。漢許慎《說文解字》:“鼎,三足、兩耳,和五味之寶器也。象析木以炊?!薄队衿罚骸岸?,所以熟食器也”。一般鼎的形狀多是體圓、腹大、兩耳對立于口上,下有三足。大腹以容物,三足架空以燃火,兩耳用以貫鉉(又作扁,其狀類木棍)便于抬舉。傳世大鼎有高三尺多的;有不逾四寸的。鼎的形制因時代而異。商代前期多圓腹尖足,也有柱足方鼎和扁足鼎。商代后期,圓腹柱足鼎占多數(shù),同時分襠鼎增多,尖足鼎逐漸消失。西周后期,扁足鼎和方鼎基本消失,鼎足多呈蹄形。戰(zhàn)國鼎多斂口,皆有蓋,附耳,普通的鼎腹作西瓜形,足漸短小,蓋上伏三犠,或作三環(huán)。秦漢鼎多斂口、碩腹、附耳、三短足、均有蓋,蓋上有三環(huán)。這時期未見有絕大的鼎,傳世的大半約高一尺許。
鑄銅鼎雕塑生產(chǎn)廠是從陶制的三足鼎演變而來的,用來烹煮食物,后主要用于祭祀和宴享,是商周時期重要的禮器之一。這件鼎為商代后期制品,至今器底仍保存有煙復(fù)。整體裝飾繁雜、精細,圓潤的鼎身配以圓渦紋、風(fēng)鳥紋、蟬紋等紋樣,造型和裝飾協(xié)調(diào)自然,堪稱商代銅鼎中的佳作。

鑄銅鼎雕塑生產(chǎn)廠,是商王 祖庚或祖甲為祭祀母親戊而作的祭器,是中國商周時期青銅器的代表作,原稱“司母戊鼎”或“司母戊大方鼎”。出土于河南安陽,現(xiàn)收藏于中國***博物館。是中國***一級。重832.84公斤,是世界迄今出土重的青銅器,享譽“鎮(zhèn)國之寶”。后母戊鼎通體高133厘米、長112厘米、口寬79.2厘米,重達832.84公斤,是已發(fā)現(xiàn)的中國古代重的單體青銅禮器,因鼎腹內(nèi)壁上鑄有“后母戊”三個字而得名后母戊鼎。發(fā)現(xiàn)于1939年,1959年開始作為鎮(zhèn)館之寶收藏于***博物館。
